A Lunchtime Concert with Julie Roberts (vocals) and Michael Hinton (piano) The songs of Cole Porter, Hoagie Carmichael, the Gershwins, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Billy Joel, Johnny Mandel and other classic songwriters and composers of the jazz/blues era to the present day. - This concert built on their very successful sold-out Brighton Fringe event earlier in 2016.

Concert, Ditchling Village Hall, in aid of St Peter and St James Hospice raised £875. Musicians Michael Hinton and Herbie Flowers, with vocalists Norman Armstrong, Ellen Hinton, Malin Maunder, and Julie Roberts. Produced and directed by Michael Hinton.
4 June. Julie Roberts playing piano in Herbie’s Jazz Breakfast in the Spiegeltent, accompanying Belle Décor handbell act with Michael Hinton, Ian White and Marianne Hillier-Brook.

Saturday 8 April.Musical Cheers Charity Concert, Ditchling Village Hall, in aid of “The National Brain Appeal” supporting The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London Julie, and singers Malin Maunder, Ellen Hinton and Norman Armstrong, plus Herbie Flowers (bass), Michael Hinton (piano) and Marianne Hillier-Brook (drums). The show was produced and directed by Michael Hinton. The hospital is a leading world centre for the treatment of strokes, MS, Parkinson’s, dementia, brain tumours, migraine, epilepsy etc. The concert raised £781-83. Sunday 7 May. Horsham Samaritans Awareness Concert , part of “Horsham English Festival”Julie was one of many acts at The Carfax Band Stand, in the centre of Horsham. Julie played guitar and sang.
Friday 12 May. Julie Roberts and Michael Hinton. Played a 2 hour concert in Shoreham by Sea organised by Shoreham U3A Jazz and Big Band appreciation group. Sold out and very warmly received.

Another grand success for Julie Roberts and Michael Hinton at this year’s Brighton Fringe.
Music at the Mill
Sunday afternoon, 3 September. Julie Roberts and Michael Hinton. Part of an afternoon of music and barbecue at Oldland Mill, Ditchling, to raise funds for the preservation of this historic working mill.
Rain didn’t stop play, but a wet audience, with brollies and cagoules, enjoyed a cheering performance from Julie and Michael.
